Good to know
A blood test offers valuable insight into your health, but it also has limitations. We set out both honestly, so you can make a well-considered choice.
We value honest information. For independent information on the benefits and limitations of health tests, we are glad to refer you to the Dutch RIVM, pros and cons of health tests.
Veelgestelde vragen
Fasting is not strictly required for this package, but we recommend having your blood drawn in the morning for the most stable picture.
This measurement detects antibodies against H. pylori, a bacterium that can cause gastric and bowel problems. A positive result indicates a current or past infection.
Our doctor provides explanation and context. With a positive result, follow-up testing by your GP is usually recommended to confirm active infection and discuss possible treatment.
Antibodies can remain positive for years after successful treatment. To check whether the bacterium has been eradicated, a breath test or stool test is more reliable than the IgG measurement.
For serious or acute complaints (such as severe abdominal pain, blood in the stool, or unexplained weight loss), we advise consulting your GP first.
For extensive bowel investigations (such as microbiome, parasites, or calprotectin), specialist tests exist that we do not yet offer.
Our doctor provides explanation and context for your result. You can use the report for your own insight or bring it to your GP.
