We value honest information. For independent information on the benefits and limitations of health tests, we are glad to refer you to the Dutch RIVM, pros and cons of health tests.
Veelgestelde vragen
For most hormone measurements, day 3–5 of the cycle (counting from the first day of menstruation) is standard. For progesterone measurement in the second half of the cycle, day 21 (or 7 days before expected menstruation) can be informative. We provide context alongside your values in the report.
Fasting is not required for hormones, but we recommend having your blood drawn in the morning between 8 and 10 o'clock for the most stable picture.
Hormonal contraception affects most of these values, the measurement will mainly reflect the effect of the medication rather than your natural cycle. Please let us know so we can take this into account.
